This painting is a perfect example of solid impressionistic style - the natural light coming on the left creates a vogue impression of true airy atmosphere. I staged the light with a purpose to emphasize the pure white of Casablancas against the dark background. The petals are practically glowing! A few brushstrokes lightly hint the presence of the vase and lead the eye to focus on the gorgeous blossoms.
